Meet Team BSH
Megan Waelti
Megan is Bonnie's working student and head groom, and supports the team in every way.
She is particularly passionate about bringing thoroughbreds into a second career post-track life. She is an active member of the Retired Racehorse Project and continues to support their mission in every way she can. She will compete her BSH-Waelti Syndicate horse, Tiger’s Tip, this season and plans to return to the TB Makeover at the KY Horse Park in October.
You will always see her accompanied by her fluffy sidekick and one of BSH's most adorable horse show dogs, Chloe.
Gabrielle Ortiz
Gabrielle has been riding for 6 years now and has proven herself a fierce and determined competitor. She has successfully competed her horse, The Chief, through Novice last year. This year, the pair plans to make their move up to Training level and have their sights set on competing at the American Eventing Championships.
Lisa Grunewald
Lisa is a wonderful teammate inside and out. She has learned the ropes of Eventing competing on BSH’s very own horses, Noble Streak and Stryder, the past several years. She supports all of Team BSH, coming to every competition to cheer on our riders, capturing all of the moments on camera, and always there to lend a helping hand. This year, she plans to be a very involved member of Area IV, volunteering through the VIP program of USEA.
Ann Wirth
Ann has been an eventer for 28 years, competing multiple horses through the preliminary level. Ann currently owns two OTTB’s, "Seamus", who is 26-years-old and "Ozzie" who is 9-years-old. Ann loves all of the elements of bringing along young horses and exploring the multiple ways to communicate with them.
Kathy Happ
Meet Hidden View Farm's barn owner and super woman, Kathy.
Kathy's spirit and happiness makes the magic happen at HFV. She owns Mira Maserati, an up and coming competition horse with BSH.
Amelia Wilber
Amelia has been riding at Hidden View Farm for over two years now and recently started her lease with BSH's very own, Maisey Star. She will compete with at local dressage shows this year as she begins learning the foundations of what it takes to be an Eventer. Amelia helps out at Hidden View Farm every week and is always one to pitch in a helping hand, hungry to learn all that she can about the equine industry and continue to work towards her goals.
Amanda Ziegler
Amanda recently joined team BSH! She has been riding for 10 years and is leasing BSH’s very own, Maisey Star. She is a beautifully focused rider, and is learning on Maisey what it means to be a precise and patient rider. She enjoys helping out around the barn and is excited to compete this season.
Caroline Bowman
Caroline and her pony, "Jojo", will be making their eventing debut this year! With one determined girl and a pony to do the job right, this team is one to watch out for!
John Vitek
John began riding just over three years ago, taking lessons from Bonnie from the start. He works with his horse, "Layton" and Bonnie on dressage and horsemanship skills. In addition to dressage, John and Layton love to ride in the field and enjoy trail rides.
